Other Parts Discussed in Thread: REF5025, REF5050
Hi I m using c6742 DSP with THS10064 ADC, could anyone advise the schematic diagram for these 2 ?

Hi Stan,
Is this an existing project or is it a new design? I ask because the THS10064 is 25 years old at this point and I'm not sure how much longer it will be available.
We've not have many new designs using a parallel interface lately. The THS10064 has internal 1.5 and 3.5V references, I would suggest that you use those features of the device.
I m looking at SLAU042B EVM manual, pg 23, where is the circuit that provide the 1.5 and 3.5v Vref ? Please advise.
We are gona use external Vref.... does it mean we need to provide 1.5v and 3.5v supply into THS10064 ?
The SLAU042 document is using the internal reference of the device. If you plan to use an external reference, then yes, you must provide that.
ok thanks Tom, could you recommend circuit that churn out 1.5v and 3.5? Any IC chip like REF5025 .... please reply soon..
Hi Stan,
There are no 1.5V or 3.5V references that I'm aware of - perhaps something with an adjustable output but in the end the initial accuracy/drift over time/temperature will all play a role.
Hi Tom, could you consult your TI analog expert who can churn out the circuit that provide 1.5 and 3.5 v... we need this urgently..
thanks for the reply, i see 2 potentiometer R2 & R4 do you think its sensible to implement 2 potentiometer in a mature PCBA for wafer machine? please advise..
It should be OK, but you could always use fixed resistors as well if you don't want to use potentiometers. R1 of 3.83K and R2 of 1.65K for instance will get you 1.5V from the 5V reference.
Hi Stan,
For 3.5V, it would be the same resistor values, just swap their position in the divider circuit.
Hi Stan,
The THS10064 is a 10-bit converter, the internal reference should be adequate. Besides the REF5050, 2 each of 3.83K and 1.65K would be your BOM.
