DAC8571: Determine if I2C communication is established with DAC8571

Part Number: DAC8571

All:

We have a requirement to report successful I2C communication.

I just did a write to the temporary register and readback of the value, which would probably satisfy that requirement (without sending a value to the output).

Is there another method that could be used?

Regards,

  • Hi Todd,

If you are looking to verify both writing and reading for the device, this is likely the best way.

The datasheet mentions on page 20:
"The I2C bus can be noisy and data integrity and can be a problem in a system of many I2C devices. To enable I2C system verification, DAC8571 provides read back capability for the user."

    Thanks,
    Lucas
