ADS131M08: Using internal DC test signals for ADC calibration

Hi everyone,

I would like to calibrate the gain of the ADS131. The datasheets mention some internal test signals in section 8.3.9. Apart from the fact that these test signals are +/- 2 / 15 * Vref, there is not much more information.

Therefore, can anyone let me know if these signals can be used for internal gain calibration?

How accurate/reliable are these signals?

Do these signals vary from device to device or even from channel to channel?

Hi Daniel Zimmermann1,

We do not have accuracy data to share with respect to the internal test signals. These are intended to diagnose gross issues with the ADC and ensure the internal signal chain is still functioning properly.

If you need to calibrate the ADC gain error, please use an external source e.g. a precision VREF, for this purpose
