Hi Expert,
The output codes from ADS8588S are as below form:
input voltage |
output code |
0.01V |
0x 00F6 |
2.49V |
0x 7FBE |
2.51V |
0x 80C2 |
4.99V |
0x FFB0 |
When the input voltage is over than 2.5V, the output code is overflow. You can see the code of 2.51V is start with "8".
Below is the schematic, could you please help analysis the issue?
They use internal REF, set PGA RANGE to +-5V.
BR,
Moon
Hi Moon,
Please provide logic analyzer or O'Scope captures of the SPI control lines - /CS, SDI, SDO and SCLK.
0.01v input
2.49V input
2.51V input
4.99V input
Please help analysis.
thanks.
Hi Tom,
Add the /CS signal.
We are confused about the code is jump to '8xxxh' when the input voltage over 2.5V, which is different with the pic of transfer function in datasheet. According to the pic of transfer function (Figure 66), 8xxxh equals -5V input when the range is +-5V.
So we just want to know the reason and how to solve it.
Hi Moon,
When running in serial mode, DB14, DB[6:0] and DB[13:9] should be grounded. Try tying those pins to ground and see it the behavior you describe above goes away.
