ADS1675: data rate

Part Number: ADS1675

If I set the sampling rate to 4Msps, how can I send out the sampled data out through its SPI continuously, which maximal speed is 32Mbps? Any idea?

  • Hello Cheng,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forum!

Can you elaborate on your question? I do not understand where 32Mbps is coming from or what the issue is.
  • Hello Alex,

if I set the sampling rate to 4Msps, the ADC's throughput will be 4M*24bits/s, which will be 96Mbits/s. But its SPI speed is 32MHz. How can I transmit all data out? Is there a way to do it?

    Thanks for your reply.

  • Hello Cheng,

I understand now. The ADS1675 will output code samples in decimal format, not the 1's and 0's bitstream from the modulator.

The 1's and 0's from the modulator will go through the digital decimation filter which will "average" the results based on the oversampling ratio.

If you are interested in a converter that will simply output 1's and 0's, I recommend you look at our modulators such as the AMC1303 or AMC1306.
