DAC7578: documentation conflict channel order

Part Number: DAC7578
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC7678

It seems like there is a documentation problem in the datasheet of the DAC7578.

I am using the DAC7578SPW. I will use channel A..F, so I turned off G and H.

The order of the channels conflicts between example and docu in datasheet, see attached image.

The example variant will work for me to power off single channels, the order in the documentation doesn't works.

  • Chris,

I suspect this could be a real issue with the documentation. Previously in the past DAC7678 was revised to show the opposite order.

I will need to check to validate this and then pass this to the datasheet owner to pursue an update.
  • Hi Kevin,

please give feedback when you know this was an issue or not.

    Best regards,

    Chris

  • Chris,

    Certainly.

I am waiting to get feedback from the team to validate this.
  • Chris,

    I can confirm the issue.

Right now we are working with the internal teams concerning updating the datasheet. At present with the upcoming holidays and various resources out of office I do not yet have an estimate for when a new version of the datasheet will be published, but it is on it's way. When I have a good idea of that timing, I will update this thread. Otherwise, you should receive notification of the datasheet update automatically as a customer of the device.

Thanks again for bringing this up. Please let me know if you have any further questions. After 2 weeks this thread will lock automatically, but you can click on "Ask a Related Question" at that time and either myself or someone on my team will continue to support you.

In the event that this thread has locked prior to the update, I will send you a message as well - just to ensure that you receive the information in parallel to the automated update.
