TLC1549: Any change on driver software is need when switch TLC549 to TLC1549?

Dears,

Customer is using our TLC549, but this device is EOL, they are going to switch to P2P device TLC1549.

Can you please confirm if they need do any change on driver software when switch TLC549 to P2P device TLC1549?

Hi Yunjing,

The TLC549 only needs eight clocks to complete its conversion and acquisition phases while the TLC1549 needs at least 10. Assuming only eight I/O clks were applied for the TLC549, some minor adjustment to the software would be necessary to use the TLC1549.

So the main change in driver software is the software related to the conversion cycle?

Is there any other big change in software? If only this change, I think it won't be a problem.

Hi Yunjing,

The data comes out the same way in both devices, so the MSB is going to be output on the same clock cycle of the TLC1549 as the TLC549, you can chose to keep the two LSBs for the full 10-bit resolution or ignore them and make no further changes in the software.
