    Hi Frank,

    Unfortunately you cannot make a single-ended measurement with the ADS1230 due to the common-mode restriction on the the PGA.  The ADS1232 is a similar device that has a PGA bypass mode for gains of 1 or 2.  You could also look at the ADS1220 and the ADS124S06 that also have a PGA bypass mode.
