ADC12D800RFRB: Sampling Freq of ADC12D800RF and communication between ADC12D800RFRB and NI Labview

I'm jinseong


I am considering buying adc12d800rfrm. I have some questions.

first. I am looking for a dual ADC, and the desired specification is that the analog input BW is about 2 GHz and the sampling rate is 100MSPS.

The most similar among them is ADC12D800RF. But when I looked at the datasheet, it was confirmed that the minimum sampling rate is 150 MHz in Non-DES Mode. Even if external CLK is applied, does 100 MHZ not

work? if not, can you recommend some devices?

second.  When using the adcd12800rfrb board, I know that data capture can be performed using Wave vision 5 software. But I want to use NI Labview's Visa function to drive the adc. So, is it possible to connect

directly to NI Labview through the USB port of the board? Or is there a way to connect the wave vision 5 software and Labview?

Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Jinseong,

    I would like to understand better why the need for 2GHz of BW, when only sampling at 100MSPS?

    Also, how many bits or ENOB/SNR performance is required for you application.

    For any of our ADCs, We either use WaveVision or HSDC-Pro for the data capture in the time and frequency domain. We can give you the FPGA code for either, but we don't have anything available unfortunately that directly connects to NI Labview through our USB.

    I don't know if it's correct to ask in this forum, If I buy ADC12D800RFRB, I know that the package consists of board, usb cable ti balub board, etc.

    in case, Is the ADC12D800RF device in the package ?

    Hi Jinseong,

    Yes, the ADC12D800RF comes mounted on the evaluation board.

    If you need extra, loose ADC parts, then please order those separately.
