AFE5832LPEVM: AFE5832LPEVM confirmation

Genius 9880 points
Part Number: AFE5832LPEVM

Hi Team,

Good day, we received inquiry from customer and want to know more about AFE5832LPEVM. For me to not miss any information, Il'll copy the query below.

"How many samples can be stored for one acquisition? Is this at 80 MSamples/s ? A lower rate, e.g. 40 MSamples/s is also fine.
We would like to record the 32 channels simultaneously upon a trigger. Is there a trigger input on the board?"

Thank you and looking forward for your kind response,

Regards,

Maynard

  • Maynard,

Thanks for looking at the AFE!

the 80MSPS is the sampling rate of the AFE. while it doesn't save data on the chip. in the real world, the AFE output data will enter the FPGA for processing and saving. If FPGA has a big DDR memory connected, then the data saving limit depends on the DDR memory depth.

also, the 80MSPS is ADC clock rate. for each analog channel, it is 40MSPS since we have 2:1 MUX between amplifiers and ADC.  if you use TI's capture card, like TSW1400, we Provides 1-GB memory, enabling 512M sample depth for single channle. for 32Ch channel it will be 16M samples.

    Thanks!
