ADS1018-Q1: Maximum input impedance

Part Number: ADS1018-Q1

What is the maximum recommended input impedance which one should connect externally to one of the ADC's input?

I can't seem to find the relevant data about it in the datasheet. I will have between 5k and 10k, max. 100Hz sampling rate and hope to get between 10 and 12 ENOB.

I don't want to just put an opamp buffer before confirming whether it is needed or not.

Thank you!

  • Hi Predrag,

As you can see from Table 7.5 in the ADS1018-Q1 datasheet, the ADC's input impedance is not a fixed value. Instead, the input impedance varies with FSR and input type, so it is hard to definitively claim that, for example, a 5k load is okay and a 10k load might cause errors.

Can you provide more details on the ADS1018-Q1 configuration settings you intend to use as well as the sensor type & output voltage?
