DLP for HUD

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP4710

Hi,

We have DLP requriement for HUD which is auto grade

But the requirement is Full HD resolution , TI has no full hd auto grade IC

so i was looking at pico chisets in which DLP4710 was having temperature range of -20 to 90 which is good and better

but only thing i am not clear is are these pico chipsets suitable for HUD kind of applications

or can use a full HD supported standard chipset and use a heater to achieve lower temperature operation which is -40 degree

kindly suugest best possible solution

  • Hello Shyam -

This is Ross from the DLP Automotive team, we've spoken on the forums and via email. If this system will be designed into automobiles, we would recommend one of the automotive chipsets. There is a gap in the environmental capabilities (in regards to design, lifetime performance, testing, qualification, PPAP documentation, etc.) between DLP Pico and Auto devices.

As we've discussed in the past, there are other methods to increase resolution capabilities of the automotive 0.55" chipset, so this would be our recommended path.

    Regards,

    Ross

  • Sorry for iterating here, i will take this via mail.

  • Shyam,

Thank you for your interest in DLP technology all the same.

I will be closing this thread. Please feel free to post again with any additional queries.
