DLP5531-Q1: Composer .xproj file, and error 556 (DMD connectivity)

Part Number: DLP5531-Q1

Hi, following up on this thread [e2e.ti.com/.../4031155, I have been continuing with our work on the DLP. We are still facing some issues and would like to seek additional assistance before being able to work on this component.

1) May I seek to obtain a .xproj file for the DLP5531 for use with the DLP Composer for configuration?

2) The issue of improper DMD connection (error code 556) still persists with the graphical error message, even though the DMD is now seated flush with the socket. It seems that the DMD socket is not user-serviceable and is fixed onto the Formatter board. Could you please advise on this?

  • Hello Wei,

    Responding to your requests:

    1. I now have granted Anthony's email access to the DLP-AUTO-HEADLIGHT-GEN2-EMBED-SW-CONFIG-FILES – DLP Auto Headlight Gen 2 - DLPC230 Embedded Software and Configuration Files for access to the xproj file for use with DLP Composer. If you need access to DLP Composer and the project files, then you will need to send me an email (you can request to add me as an E2E friend and send me a direct message to keep your email address private).

    2. Error code 556 indicate the DMD high speed training routine has failed, which is usually a result of a disconnected pin on the DMD. Does shifting or applying pressure to the DMD while it is installed on the socket eliminate the training error and remove the horizontal lines on half of the DMD? You can still observe the DMD directly without the optics and LED to see if the mirrors are operating correctly. Considering all of the hardware debug that already has been performed (from the initial thread), these are the options moving forward:

    • Return the entire EVM for a new replacement EVM.
    • Request a DLP5531-Q1 DMD sample to replace the DMD currently installed on the EVM.

Let me know which of these options you'd like to proceed with.

  • Hi Akeem

    Thank you for your help!
    My email is weihan.chan@moovita.com

Could we proceed with the DMD replacement please?
