DLPC120-Q1: Initial brightness setting in DLPC120 firmware.

Hi,

We are developing an application based on DLP3030 using Q7 RGB LEDs.

We are facing some issue in brightness setting. In our application we setting the initial brightness as 3277(5% in our case) but, we observed that there might be some initial brightness setting (30000) is already there in the firmware because of that we could observe transition from 30000 to 3277 while bootup.

We want to know whether there is any default brightness is setting in TI firmware during bootup. if so, could you please provide a dlpc120 firmware with 0 as default brightness value.

Hi Sundar,

Welcome back to the E2E forums and we hope to assist you with your questions.

Please go to the DLPC120 ACP and then go to the calibration file tab on the left.

Load the calibration file you want to load onto your system and then go to defaults.

Under defaults should be a backlight option and set that to 0 and then click save.

Reprogram the calibration file onto your system.

Thanks for the message.

Could you please help to suggest the PCLK,HSYNC,VSYNC Polarity of the DLP3030 ? We were facing a issue like , some portion of the display seems blue in color (which is white in real). we were suspecting it may be due to any of the above mentioned polarity.

Could you please help to clarify the polarity information?

Hello Sundar,

When you say the display has some blue, is this only when you are displaying external video through hdmi to your system or do you see this effect also with test patterns or splash images?

Is the system you are using calibrated?

I believe the hsync and vsync polarity are both active low pulse and the pclk is sample on rising edge.

Hello Alex,

Please find the answers below:

1. DLP test pattern and splash images are ok, its only when we use HDMI input either from PC or from internal pattern generator of 949.
2. Yes, Its calibrated.
3. Please find the below ticket which explains the problem of polarity changes which the same we are observing.

Hello Sundar,

Apologies for the delayed response, I was out of town for several days.

It seems like you have your own system design. Do you have a block diagram or schematic of your system? Are you using a serializer/deserializer setup in your system?
What do you mean by 949 when talking about internal pattern generation?
