DM8168CCYG or SCYG

What does silicon revision "S" Video Security mean? This is the part we've been offered by our distributor and not the normal CCYG.

  • Graeme,

Silicon revision "S" and "C" are the exact same device with no differences.  The "S" marking was created to help identify video security or similar designs from other applications within our customers.  Because of an internal restructuring of support it is no longer needed.  We are currently maintaining both revisions to help our customers to keep costs low from potential re-certification costs associated with part number changes.  Feel free to use "S" or "C" revisions as the same product.  In fact, I would advise you to qualify both to allow for more supply flexibilty if possible.
