Hello, I have a couple of questions about the V2 ordering API regarding the new checkout profile.
1. How can I tell what purchaser places an order? Do I need to create a profile for each purchaser?
2. As I work for a contract manufacturer we build a multitude of products for different industries. Do I need to create a checkout profile for every single product we produce?
Also as a note I cannot create a checkout profile as under the regulations section there is a spinner that has been spinning for over 30 minutes
Thank you,
Jacob Frost
Hi Jacob,
Let's see if we can answer your questions, but, lets' start with #2 first.... If all of the products you are building are going to the same end customer, you will only need one checkout profile. If you will providing end products for multiple end customers, you will need a different checkout profile for each end customer.
For question #1, I need more clarity on what you are trying to do....
- Other purchasers "outside" of your CM business are ordering? purchasers IN your CM business? Please provide more details on what you are trying to accomplish.
Lastly, the spinning is related to a problem we are currently experiencing. This is still in work.

Faye
1. For v1, we could enter the name of the person making the purchase, but it seems like that option is not available in v2.
2. Creating individual profiles for each customer would be a challenging task since we have around 100 of customers. Is it possible to group customers into more generalized "buckets" instead?
Also, now that my request to v2 was successful, I have some additional questions:
3. Can we no longer order beyond the online limits through the API? This was the main reason we started using the API, but we are now receiving messages saying that the inventory quantity is not available for your requested part number(s).
4. Regarding the email sent after completing an order, how can we change the recipient's email address? As someone who is not a purchaser, receiving the email is not ideal for me.
Hi Jacob,
I sent you a friend request. Can you please accept it so that I can get more specific details? Thanks!
Faye
