TCAN337: Part selection

Part Number: TCAN337

Hi,

Iam using TCAN337 in my board. But in evaluation board the bom is not given. Please share the PN or power spec for split termination(60R, and other values shown in below figure)and pull up resistors on TXD and fault pin(10K or 4.7K )

  • Hello,

On the TCAN337 EVM the split termination resistors are DNP so I am unsure what package resistor they used. On our other EVM's when we use the split termination we use 1/4W resistors. Here is the P/N: CRCW120662R0JNEA

The TXD pin does not require a pull up, it all depends on your MCU. If your MCU output is open drain then you can use a pull up resistor and you calculate the power consumption based on the voltage of TXD. Lets say you use a 10K pull up resistor on TXD and your TXD is operating at 3.3V. When TXD goes low you are drawing around 1mW.

The fault pin does require a pull up resistor since it is open drain. You can use anything from 1k-10k. The power calculation works the same way. If the resistor is pulled to 3.3V and the fault pin is transmitting low that is around a 3.3V drop. You can calculate the power consumption based on what value resistor you used.

If this answered your question don't forget to hit the button. If you have anymore questions let me know.

    Best,
