TPS65994AD: TPS65994AD + LM5175 to achieve voltage regulation

Hi expert,

In reference design PMP40001, TI use TPS25740 to control LM5175 to output different voltages. My customer hope to verify if he could use TPS65994AD+LM5175 to achieve voltage regulation by GPIO of TPS65994AD? And if it's practicable, what should customer do on GPIOs of TPS65994AD to achieve voltage regulation? Thanks.

Hello Jiandong,

This is possible. The FB pin on LM5175 needs to match it's internal VRef which is 0.8V.

In the PMP40001 reference design, the two resistors R65 and R66 seem to be pulled low by the GPIO which makes them parallel to R67, thereby modifying the FB voltage.

In the GPIO config you could use SourcePDOxContract_Portx event with output polarity as "Inverted" to make the GPIO work as an Active Low when the specific PDO is negotiated.
