TCAN337G: Can i get the IBIS model for TCAN337GDR

Part Number: TCAN337G
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN337

Hi,

Can i get the IBIS model for TCAN337GDR CAN transceiver IC.

Thanks.

  • Reshma,

The IBIS model for TCAN337 can be found on the product page here

    Regards,

    Eric Hackett

  • Got it..Thanks Eric

  • Hello,

In IBIS model of TCAN337, the pins 6,7 (CANL,CANH) are given as output type in the model.

Whereas , these are supposed to be I/O(bi-directional signals) as per mentioned in datasheet.

Could you please provide the updated IBIS model for the part TCAN337.

    Thanks.

  • Reshma,

I'll look into this and get back to you tomorrow.

  • Reshma,

While I get my simulator software working, can you let me know what simulation software you're using? Typically when I've simulated these models I have modeled them as an input or output in separate simulation models, but it required two separate pieces to make that happen. Also, how are you using this model, as in what are you simulating? If it is just CAN bus signals, we have IBIS models for our other devices that may perform differently, as this model for the TCAN33x family was created several years ago.

  • Hi Eric,

I am trying to  simulate the CAN bus signals using Hyperlynx software from Mentor graphics.

I need to simulate the CANH,CANL signals from TCAN337 and try to check the rise time, fall time by sweeping frequency from 1MHz to 5MHz.

    Thanks,

    Reshma

  • Hi Reshma,

The IBIS model currently available should be suitable for this test. While the receiver circuit itself is not modeled, the parasitics and leakage presented by the bus pins is represented in the file. The definition of the pins as outputs will let you send a signal to the CAN driver via an internal logic state which can be mapped to your frequency sweep. The resulting output on the CANH and CANL pins will take into account the drive characteristics of the transceiver, internal pin parasitics and leakage, and external loads included in the simulation.

Let me know if you have trouble setting up the test with this model. I typically use ADS to run IBIS simulations, but I have some experience using separate functions of Hyperlynks.
