SN65LVDS93A: Comparison with SN65LVDS93A-Q1

Part Number: SN65LVDS93A

Team,

My customer is looking to replace the SN65LVDS93A with the Q1 version.
When comparing SN65LVDS93ADGGR with SN65LVDS93AIDGGRQ1, there are some differences:

  • SN65LVDS93A-Q1 has worse thermal properties.
  • Different ESD standards are mentioned in the datasheet.

Do both devices have the same ESD parameters or are there any differences?

Best regards

  • Hi Franziskus,

Let me double check this, and I will get back with you by end of this week.

  • Thanks Aaron!

  • Hi Franziskus,

Thank you for your patience. These devices have been a long-time released product. However, according to the database, it looks like we released a commercial version and then later on an auto version. Both of these devices, they are the same die, but there is a new leadframe used for the automotive device. This new LF design can explain a slight difference in thermal ratings.

The ESD rating for auto and commercial is run to different standards (JEDEC vs AEC). The HBM values are relatively close but the CDM is very different, I would not expect the new LF or the different standard to cause such a large variation in CDM.

I hope this explain the confusion. Let me know if you have further questions.

    Aaron
