TVS1800: Transient performance

Hi team,

I consider using TVS1800 as transient surge protection for TPS25947 input line (absolute maximum rating <28V).

According to datasheet, TVS1800 can clamp voltage below 23.4V at Ipp=40A (8/20us).

But our customer concerns that TVS1800 can clamp voltage below 23.4V during faster surge which has ~ns rise time and around 10A peak current (like ESD).

So I would like to know response time that surge current actually begin to flow through TVS1800 after input voltage exceed Vbr.

In summary, the TVS1800 can handle faster transients, like ESD, in the nanosecond range as well as surge transients. While we don't have any waveforms or turn on times spec'd in the datasheet, the ESD clamping voltage should actually be better/lower than surge since it's a less energetic event.
