TUSB211: RC

Part Number: TUSB211

Hi team,

My customer is using the TUSB211 and will not be driving the reset.  According to the datasheet on pg11, the RC time constant should be 5 times the power on ramp time.  From pg6 the max ramp time is 100ms so the capacitor should at least be (100ms * 5) / 500k = 1uF, but on pg3 it only recommend a 0.1uF

Am I misunderstanding or calculating something wrong here?

Thanks,

Connie

  • Hi Connie,

The recommended capacitor is picked for a typical power supply ramp time.  If the customer has a power supply ramp closer to the maximum, they will need to increase the cap value.
