TUSB1044RNQEVM: Design a 10m type-c cable by using TUSB1044RNQEVM

Part Number: TUSB1044RNQEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB216I

Hi Sir,

My customer want to design a 10m active cable for type-c signal.

1. Is it ok to use TUSB1044EVM's circuit to meet customer's requirement? Where do we have to put the redriver? Source side or middle of the cable?

2. How to porcess AUX signal through SBU for 10m application? Any redriver required for CC?

Thanks for your kindly help.

Best regards,

Gary Teng

  • HI Gary,

Typically no redriver is needs for SDBU and CC signals. A single 1044 cannot support 10 m application. A redriver should be used at either end of the cable to get the best performance but a lower gauge cable construction should be used to help improve signal integrity.

Two TUSB216I should be used for USB2 signals at either end of the cable.
