Hello,

In the app note SLVAEQ2, "How to Pass MFi Overcurrent Protection Test With USB Charger and Switch Device", it is 4.5A as the maximum continuous output current of TPS2583x/4x-Q1. Where does this figure come from? Thanks!

Hi, Masatoshi-san,

The TPS2584x-Q1 employs fixed frequency peak current mode control, and its peak current limit is 5.4A. Calculate the current ripple with 10uH inductor((VIN-Vout)*ton/L). We can get a max output current(Peak current limit - 0.5*Current ripple).
