TLIN1021-Q1: Replacing SN65HVDA100-Q1

Part Number: TLIN1021-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65HVDA100-Q1, , TLIN1021A-Q1

Hi Team,

One of my customer is planning to migrate to TLIN1021-Q1 in new generation from SN65HVDA100-Q1

Software compatibility of the alternate part also to be ensured since software driver development is already completed and validation in progress. kindly confirm below points.

  1. Is TLIN1021DRQ1 software compatible with SN65HVDA100QDRQ1.
  2. Is there any modification is required with respect to existing software driver which is developed for SN65HVDA100QDRQ1. If it is not software compatible could you please provide the dissimilarity details to check the feasibility of software implementation.

Naveen

  • Hi Naveen,

Thanks for reaching out. First off please let me recommend the TLIN1021A-Q1, which features a small upgrade to address the errata of the TLIN1021-Q1. Otherwise functionality is identical.

Regarding how it compares to the SN65HVDA100-Q1, please note that the nWAKE on the SN65HVDA100-Q1 is an edge-triggered WAKE pin on the TLIN1021A-Q1. This should not be an issue is most applications, since the action of pulling nWAKE low will also trigger a wake-up on the WAKE pin of the TLIN1021A-Q1. Just keep in mind that a rising edge on WAKE also causes a wake-up, but I have not seen implementations where this is a problem.

Other than that, the devices are passive analog transceivers and don't require special programming. The TLIN1021A-Q1 has improved electrical characteristics that improve performance compared to the SN65HVDA100-Q1

Please let me know if I can help clarify any further.

    Best,

    Danny
