May I have a question for DP83867IR delay mode.
DP83867RRGZ has RGMII two kind delay modes. Aligned mode and Shift mode spec.
Default setting is Aligned mode.
Question1. Aligned mode doen't work adjusteor function by Register(RGMIIDCTL) settings and resistor?
Question2. Which pin is HW strap for it in DP83867RRGZ?
BR,
Kosaka
Hello Kosaka
Thank you for the query.
DP83867RRGZ has RGMII two kind delay modes. Aligned mode and Shift mode spec. Default setting is Aligned mode.
Your understanding is correct.
Question1. Aligned mode doen't work adjusteor function by Register(RGMIIDCTL) settings and resistor?
Can you please explain this one more time.
Question2. Which pin is HW strap for it in DP83867RRGZ?
Align mode is default.

Hello Kosaka
If customer is facing some issues and looking to solve using the RGMII delay control, Please share details.

Question1. There is described "In Aligned mode, no clock skew is introduced." at 8.4.1.1.2 1000-Mbps Mode Timing in DataSheet.
So I asked Is it possible to control the delay in Aligned mode. This mean When we use delay function, we have to change the mode.
What is different with Aligned mode and Shift mode?
Our system meet a receiver error and Idle Error at Phy so we investigage it.

Kosaka
Hello Kosaka
Thank you for the reply.
Align mode has the clock and data in phase.
If you need to change the delay you will have to use shift mode.

Hello Sreenivasa
Thank you for infomation.
Delay function does not work in the Align mode.
What does the shift mode work without Data in phase?

Kosaka
Hello Kosaka
Thank you for the reply.
I will restate the above sentence based on the datasheet
The timing paths can either be configured for Aligned mode or Shift mode. In Aligned mode, no clock skew is introduced. In Shift mode, the clock skew can be introduced in 0.5-ns increments (through strap configuration) or in 0.25-ns increments (through register configuration).

Hello Streenivasa
Your mean diffrence is only delay function working with Aligned mode or Shift mode.
Is my understanding correct?

Kosaka
Hello Kosaka
Thank you for the reply.
That is correct.

Hello Sreenivasa
Thank you for the reply.
Sorry I forgot one quetion.
When will the chip reflect the Register(RGMIIDCTL) setting value? Run time? or need other action?

Kosaka
Hello Kosaka
Thank you for the query.
Setting the register and doing a SW_RESTART using register 0X001f should work.
