TRS3243E: Difference between MAX3243E and TRS3243E

Part Number: TRS3243E
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TRS3243, MAX3243, , MAX3243E

Hello team,

Our customer is planning to replace MAX3243EIDBR for delivery issue, and assumed if TRS3243EIDBR could be considered as an alternative.

In the other E2E thread, "MAX3243: vs. MAX3243E/TRS3243/TRS3243E", I heard MAX3243E and TRS3243E are same parts with different names.

Customer assumes that since it seems to have same electrical characteristics and MAX3243EIDBR is already evaluated, they could use this device without evaluation.

How should we respond to the customer?

Best Regards,

Ryotaro Fukui

  • Hi Ryotaro Fukui,

MAX3243/TRS3243 are the same part, with different part numbers to help with secondary sourcing. The MAX3243E/TRS3243E implement additional protection for IEC ESD, than the non-E versions.

If the customer is wanting to replace an "E" device with another "E" device (TRS3243EIDBR replacing MAX3243EIDBR), then this is fine.

    Regards,

    Tyler

  • Hi Tyler,

    Sorry for the late reply.

We told the customer that TRS3243EIDBR is same device with same characteristics, and they should decide whether to evaluate or not based on the feedback.

    Thank you for your support.

    Regards,
