Hi team,
I am not familiar with ethernet protocol, here is an item want to know your comments.
if our part DS125BR401 could support 10Gbe-SR protocol?
Thanks
Best regards
Mia Ma
Hi Mia,
It would be possible for our redriver to support 10G-SR, but in general it is challenging for redrivers to meet the eye mask requirements for optical communication. In order to meet eye mask requirements with a redriver, module channel insertion loss should be within 10dB and the host chip random jitter needs to be reasonable.
If there are concerns about meeting the eye mask requirements, a retimer might be more appropriate.
Thanks,
Drew
Hi Miller,
Thanks for your quick response.
So if there any suitable part you would be recommended here could achieve a good performance? the following items are my application needed:
Thanks.
Best regards
Mia Ma
Hi Mia,
Unfortunately, our retimers run off a 2.5V supply. You could consider adding an LDO or buck module to step 3.3V to 2.5V, but I understand that this does add cost and complexity.
The retimers I would recommend if a 2.5V supply is acceptable are: DS100RT410, DS100DF410, DS110DF410.
Thanks,
Drew
