TUSB8043: Programing EEPROM via HID to I2C Interface

Part Number: TUSB8043

Hello,

I would like to know how the upstream USB port is used to program the EEPROM via the HID to I2C interface. Is this programing only limited to a specific tool or any host processor can do this?

I am intending to use this hub in our design where an embedded processor (NXP iMX8) running Linux OS will act as the host. I would like to be able to do first time programming of EEPROM (and any updates to EEPROM contents) in-system via the USB interface without the need for any special/external tools. Would this be possible to do?

Regards,

Jamal
