SCANSTA112: Parallel Programming

Hello,

We are planning to use SCANSTA112 IC as a switch/multiplexer for parallel programming of multiple boards through any debugger.

Can this IC be used for SWD interface with connections as below?

SWDIO - TMS

SWCLK - TCK

SWO - TDO

Also, is there any other part# which can be used for SWD signals multiplexing? Please suggest.

The SCANSTA112 will not able to support this function. I send the question to our MUX team and see if they have a recommended part.

Could you provide some more information here. What voltage and frequency are you working with?
If i'm understanding this request properly, you're looking to mux the 4 SWD lines (SWDIO, SWCLK, SWO, and RSTn) to four different loctions. So you'll need 4 channels and a 4:1 switch. We don't have this configuration in a single device but a multi chip solution may work here. Take a look at the TMUX1309 and see if that would work. It should support the typical =<5V, =<10Mhz for SWD. 2 of them would be the suggestion here.

Thanks for your reply and suggestion.
Our desired working voltage is 3.3V and frequency <50 MHz.

We think that the similar part to your suggested part i.e. SN74LV4052APWT should work fine too. Can you share your thoughts on this?
Also, can you please help to suggest the similar part with 8x1 configuration with 2 circuits.

Hey Kaushal,

The SN74LV4052 could work as well but I'd be concerned about the bandwidth. The testing conditions have a bit of a larger load though (600ohms) so you may be able to get away with it. The TMUX1309 is an upgraded version with 1.8V logic compatible inputs, smaller package and an extended temperature range so both devices could be the solution you're looking for.

The TMUX1308 or SN74LV4051A will give you a 1ch 8:1, so you could use 2 of which ever one for your '2 circuits'. The notes above about the SN74LV4052 vs the TMUX1309 hold true for the TMUX1308 vs SN74LV4051A.

Hello Rami,

Thank you for your suggestion.

For our application, we are planning to use either of these part, Which has 4-channels and 2:1 mux.

1. SN74CBTLV3257PWR

2. TMUX1574PWR

Hope both parts can be used for the JTAG multiplexing.
