DS160PT801: Some questions about DS160PT801...

Part Number: DS160PT801

Hi Sir,

May I have some questions about DS160PT801?

customer wants to use DS160PT801 on extended able of PCIe4.

1. How many dB that DS160PT801 can recover?

2. how to set the dB setting? need MCU or can be set by H/W(resistors)?

3. how about the current consumption?

Thanks.

  • Hi Peter,

    1. All PCIe Gen4 devices are required to recover a signal from at least 28dB of loss at 8GHz.  The retimer is guaranteed to recover that amount of loss from it's receiver, which would effectively double the channel length.

    2. All of the signal conditioning components in the retimer are automatically adaptive, so the do not need to be set. If you would like to then the adaptation can be manually overridden using I2C.

    3. The power consumption is available through the MySecure portal and will be on the datasheet when the part releases.  I cannot share that information here because it is not released yet and this is a public forum.  If you e-mail me your information I can give you access to the MySecure folder.
