DS90UB962-Q1: Deserializer Supply Current

The 962 datasheet groups all the 1V8 supply pins into a single spec. Can you please provide what percentage of the total current each bank (VDD18_Px, VDD18_FPDx, VDD18A) is consuming?

    In the 962 datasheet, we have validated the current draw of the 962 device from each power rail in the system, based on certain operating conditions.

    Specific current draw for each individual VDD18 pin have not been defined. However, in the Typical Applications diagram, we expect all of the VDD18 power supply pins to be connected to the same 1V8 rail and their combined current draw from the 1V8 rail is defined in the datasheet.

  • Hi Justin, We are running some PI simulations and we require the current draw for each pin or, at least, the current draw for each bank of pins shared after the ferrites. Can TI please provide this info?

    I've double-checked with our Validation team and there is no data available for the current draw from each pin group on the 962 device.

    We will not be able to support a detailed breakdown of the current consumption on the VDD18 voltage rail, but if Magna follows the power supply filtering guidelines in our datasheet and maintains voltage ripples within 1.8V(+/-5%) or 1.1V(+/-5%), then we are confident that the device will work as intended, since those conditions are what we used to validate our parts.
