TVS3301: Increase clamping voltage and VBR

Hi,

I would like to use this to protect a LM5176. The latter is spec'd to 60V to input range so in terms of clamping voltage the TVS3301 will do a great job. However, I would prefer to allow for an input voltage of 36V +/-5% so Vbr min should be at least 38V. Can you suggest a way to tweak it upward a little?

Hi Ciaran,

We are actually releasing a 36 V surge diode to ti.com this month. Unfortunately, I can't post much info about it on E2E just yet, but keep an eye out and I will post the link to it on this thread once it releases.

Is there a bidirectional version as we need to allow for possible accidental reverse polarity connection?

Hi Ciaran,

We are working on a bidirectional version, but for right now we just have the unidirectional version. However, you can achieve bidirectional capability by connecting two devices in series with one inverted.

OK understood. If the bidirectional version will be available around September, even as samples, we could work with that once we know what footprint to design in before then. Do you have an ETA?
