TCAN4550-Q1: GPIO related question

Part Number: TCAN4550-Q1

Hi Expert,

Customer is considering to use TCAN4550-Q1 in their new project.

To save the GPIO resource for MCU, they would like to know if GPIO1 and GPO2 are not required, does these two pins can leave open? I saw there is some default function like interrupt on the GPIO. If GPIO1 & GPO2 not used, is there anything that needs special attention? Or just leave open.

Thanks!

  • Hi Ethan,

These pins are not required for basic functionality and may be left open to save MCU IOs. The main purpose of the GPIO pins is to indicate specific interrupt conditions or to be used in test mode for TXD/RXD breakout. All interrupt information is available through the SPI interface. If these functions are not required, you can safely leave the GPIOs open in this application.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
