DS90UB948-Q1: test pattern generation with internal Clock

Part Number: DS90UB948-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB947-Q1, , DS90UB941AS-Q1

Hi team,

One of our customers is experiencing the following issues, can someone guide him to resolve them

Serializer: DS90UB947-Q1,Use DSI0

Deserializer: DS90UB948-Q1,Use dual link

Currently, the 947 DSI does not take input, the screen has backlight but no display. He wants to output a test image of 1080p60Hz from the 948 Pattern Generation, how should he configure the 948 register? The requirement is to use the 948's own internal clock source.

There is no external clock, the 947 internal clock source is used, and PAGTEN is enabled on the serializer side.

The registers currently configured with 948 are:

i2cset -f -y 3 0xc 0x66 0x03
i2cset -f -y 3 0xc 0x67 0x03
i2cset -f -y 3 0xc 0x66 0x04

i2cset -f -y 3 0xc 0x67 0x50
i2cset -f -y 3 0xc 0x66 0x0B
i2cset -f -y 3 0xc 0x67 0x05
i2cset -f -y 3 0xc 0x66 0x0C

i2cset -f -y 3 0xc 0x65 0x04
i2cset -f -y 3 0xc 0x64 0x15
After configuring the 948 register, the backlight is off, how can I correct it
Best Regards,

  • Hi Amy,

    Serializer: DS90UB947-Q1,Use DSI0

DS90UB947 is an OpenLDI to FPD-Link III serializer so it won't support a DSI input.

If you need to support a DSI input you could use the DS90UB941AS-Q1 which is a dual DSI to FPD-Link III serializer.

Please note - DS90UB948 is an FPD-Link III to OpenLDI Deserializer, so your output data type will be OpenLDI as well.

Depending on what data type you need to support at the input/output side you would need to select the appropriate Ser/Des pair.

    Regards,
    Fadi A.
