DS90UB929-Q1EVM: Wrong i2c address when connect with 926

Part Number: DS90UB929-Q1EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ALP

Hello experts,

My customer is using 929EVM connecting with a 926 for demo test. But it shows the i2c address of 926 is 0 on ALP, which is a invalid address. Also, the value we got from remote register are all came with '0'.

Please kindly advise how to make them connect correctly.

  • Hi Frank,

Thank you for the question. It sounds like deserializer was not detected.

    1. Could you verify that the jumpers of the UB929 and UB926 are in the proper positions? The proper jumper and switch positions can be found in the user guides from SNLU172 for UB929 EVM and SNLU114 for UB926 EVM.

    2. Could you verify that it was locked between them? You can test the lock pin between UB929 and UB926.

    Regards,

    Josh

  • hi Josh

I use TI UB929 EVM to link with 926 PCBA which we designed, the switch configuration on 929 is shown below

by the way, this configuration has successfully linked with 924  with media stream output.

    926's configuration is shown below.

as pitcture shown on the first issure post by frank, the link was locked on the ALP GUI

  • Hello Frank,

Can you share a picture of the cable/connection setup between the 929 and 926 EVMs?

    Best Regards,

    Casey
