Hi Team,

a customer is looking for a p2p replacement for MAX3232ESE with a data rate of 1000kbps.

Which device would you recommend also with regards to (long term) availability?

The MAX3232E and TRS3232E are replacements for the MAX3232ESE. The SN65C3232E and TRSF3232E are replacements with1 Mbps support; the TRSF is more modern.

Could you maybe clarify if by "replacements" you mean p2p replacements or "same functionality" replacements?

Hi Stefan,

The ESE seems to be in a narrow SO package which we don't have a direct replacement for - it will be closest to the TRSF3232E in the PW package - but it doesn't look like its the same package - it does have the same pinout and hits the needs of the application.

"Narrow SO" has a body width of 3.9 mm, which is TI's D package.
