DS100DF410: Device operating beyond 85C and below max Tj (150C)

Part Number: DS100DF410

Hi,

We are planning to use the specific part DS100DF410 in one of our design.

1. It is used for upto 10G speed

2. It is used at an ambient temperature of 105C and the maximum mentioned is 85C in datasheet.

3. Using only 2 channels of the retimer instead of 4 channels available. (power consumption is expected to reduce by half - 360mW expected)

4. Calculated Tj is coming around 125C and the maximum allowable Tj as per datasheet is 150C.

Question : Can we proceed to use this part considering all the points mentioned above. Especially the maximum ambient temperature violation.

TI cannot guarantee compliance to datasheet parameter specs if the max operating temp of 85C is exceeded.

Since junction temperature is staying within the limits, can we proceed?

If not, are there any other part recommendations for the re-timer?

The operational max for IDS100DF410 C junction temperature is 105C.150C is an absolute max (i.e. beyond which there may be damage to IC) and not an operational max.
