AM26LS32A: Difference

Part Number: AM26LS32A

Hi,

Good Day.

The customer would like to know if both P/Ns (AM26LS32DMB and DS26LS32MJ/883) are exactly the same component. If not, what are their differences?

Please advise. Thank you very much.

Best Regards,

Ray Vincent

  • As far as I can see, the 5962-7802006QEA, AM26LS32DMB, and DS26LS32MJ/883 are all the same device. I guess National Semiconductor used the AM26LS32DMB part number for compatibility with TI's AM26LS32AM‍J.

  • Hi Ray,

The parts should be similar - but since the DMB is obsolete we don't have a lot of information on the device or its internals. Since the customer does not have an option to continue using the obsolete device they have to switch - in most cases it should be fine, but they will need to look at their system and see if they have concerns using a different device.

If you can provide a schematic I can review (you can reach me offline through email if you don't want to post publicly) as that will be a better path forward to determining if this part will work. It should because they are extremely similar if not 1:1 but I don't have enough information to guarantee that in all edge cases.

    Please let me know!

    Best,

    Parker Dodson
