TLIN1029-Q1: use of standard MCU UART

Part Number: TLIN1029-Q1

Hello,
can I use the TLIN1029 with a standard MCU UART and what are the limitation? Do you have an app note or SW example for this?
Application is an industrial pump and customer is more interested in the 1-wire topology (not interested in flexible baudrate or something else).

Regards, Holger

  • Holger,

Yes, MCU UART can be used to drive LIN, and in fact I've seen this done in most applications where the MCU does not have a dedicated LIN stack. The only example in TI that I know of is in the C2000 processor group where they have developed a LIN stack on one of their processors using UART. Our group that develops the LIN transceivers does not have a software example for this.
