ONET4201LD: 100 Mbps laser diode driver

Hello there,

I would like to ask whether you offer in portfolio any laser diode driver capable of data rate 100Mbps?

I just found two of them: ONET4201LD, ONET4211LD starting at 155Mbps speed. I know it is not guaranteed, however would be the speed of 100Mbps feasible with this IC?

How can the lower speed affect the performance?

Any recommendation are welcome.

Hi Michael,

155Mbps is a Sonet data rate(OC3) and part was tested or characterized at this data rate. However, 100Mbps was not validated and characterized to meet data sheet AC parameters. 100Mbps could typically work however maintaining modulation/bias current at this data rate is not validated.

Hi Nasser,

thanks for explanation, I assume that I perform the test at 100 Mbps anyway and decide after if it brings acceptable results.

I have not seen any evaluation kit, does this family has any? I may have not seen it.
