TUSB216-Q1: Cable length design

Hi Experts,

Seeking your assistance on this query from Cx:

For the TUSB216I USB 2.0 High-Speed Signal Conditioner with BC 1.2 Controller, I don't know what cable length my customer might use to know which signal boost and sensitivity settings to apply. With this in mind, is it acceptable to use resistors for the worst-case scenario and trust that shorter cables will still work?

This is the first time I am incorporating a USB redriver into a circuit, and reading through the datasheet there are recommended different values for the resistors for signal boost and sensitivity based on the operating conditions. Since I have no control over the how customers will connect to my device, I want to be able to maximize the reliability of the device, so a customer can equally use a short USB cable or a 5m USB cable.

Thank you.

Regards,
Archie A.
