DP83TC811S-Q1: Polarity Detect

Part Number: DP83TC811S-Q1

Hi, TI team

From register PLR_CFG1, bits 12 to 13, can I see the polarity of the current ethernet connection?

According to our test, after normal connection and reverse connection of pins 12 and 13, the values of these two register bits have not changed, and the readings are in normal polarity state.

Are these two register bits  used to configure the current polarity status rather than reflect the polarity of the current connection in real time?

Or can it reflect the current polarity through other registers or other methods?

  • Hi Chen,

    • Yes, you are correct, these are the two registers to configure the current polarity.
    • Changing current polarity is not in real time. A soft reset is required to change the polarity of the current.
