TUSB216I: TUSB216I design to 5 meter cable

Part Number: TUSB216I

Hi, Support Team

We consider TUSB216I to design 5 meter USB Cable, but some question as below

Q1: USB2.0 use 28AWG is workable?

Q2: as below chart: one side is FEMALE and aonther side is MALE, should we both side use TUSB216I? or choice one side is enough?

Q3:Our spec is 5 meter cable and dont need I2C compensator, about pin High/Low voltage level?

schematic:

if any suggestion, Please advise me.

Thanks,

Best regards,

Lawrence

  • Hi Lawrence,

    1. Yes. You can use this table as the reference.
    2. You might not need two TUSB216I devices since TUSB216I supports up to 5m cable length, but note that you should consider that there is no specific insertion loss (in dB) that accurately corresponds to a particular boost setting of the device due to the nature of our USB 2 redriver solution. Please refer to tables below for placement and recommended settings in datasheet.

    3. Are you asking about the pin setting on non-I2C mode? If so, you can leave the pins floating.

    Best,

    Josh
