TCAN11623-Q1: TI solutions & INH question

Part Number: TCAN11623-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1167-Q1, TCAN1164-Q1, TCAN1144-Q1, TCAN2844-Q1, TCAN2410-Q1

Hi team,

thanks for your support before. I gave 2 questions here.

1. if I don't need to use INH PIN, can I let it float? or need to connect a resistor to GND? if need to connect to GND, how about the resistor's value?

2. My customer asked that did we have other TCAN solution can support SBC of CAN-FD with watchdog function and have 3.3Vout?

BR,

Jimmy

  • Jimmy,

When the INH pin is unneeded, it can be left floating since it is just an output.

Regarding your recommendation question, this is the simplest part that has CAN FD, LDO, and WD. The TCAN1144-Q1 has WD but no LDO. Unfortunately the TCAN11623-Q1 does not have WD, and the TCAN1167-Q1 and TCAN1164-Q1 have WD, but the LDO is 5 V.

The only other options would be the upcoming TCAN2844-Q1 and/or TCAN2410-Q1, but these will be much more complicated. It is potentially simpler to use a discrete LDO and then something like TCAN1144-Q1 which has WD and CAN FD.

  • Thanks your help Danny!! haha.
