DP83826E: DP83826 & RECR Register

Hi Team,

I am new at interface forum, because I mainly contribute to WiFi forum.

What is maximum value for RECR (RX_ER Counter)? At datasheet is stated value 0xFF, but register is 16-bit? I think this is typo from previous register FCSCR which is 8bit.

  • Hi Jan,

Are you getting more errors than FF? What are you intending on using this register for?

    Best regards,

    Melissa

  • Hi Melissa,

I want to use registers RECR and FCSCR as were intended by design. That means for assessment of link quality of my new design and later at the field.

Yes, I see higher value than 0xFF inside RECR register. At this time I testing with DP83825 (DP83825EVM) and later when I will have own hardware ready I want to use DP83826. It looks that mistake with RECR is at datasheets for other DP8382x devices as well:

    DP83825:

Some other typos or weird things at DP83826 datasheet (SNLS647F):

    • pin 16 (RX_D0) is stated as PU type at table 6-1, but default strap mode at table 9-11 is stated as 0
    • according to fig. 9-10 is internal pull-up/pull-down 10k ±25%, but at note 1 for table 9-6 is recommanded 1% tolerance resistor. From technical stand point there is not reason for such narrow tolerance. If we talk about strap resistor values, there is mistake at SNLA338A. At table 2-1 is stated 2.49k external strap resistor. But this value is correct for 1.8V Vcc not 3.3V. There should be 1.5k value instead.
