TCAN1043HG-Q1: Regarding Sleep Wake

Part Number: TCAN1043HG-Q1

I have a doubt here:

Once CAN iC enters sleep mode, but if my VIo supply is available for another 50+ mS(Supply Capacitor discharge time) and EN is Hi at that time, does it go to Wake up mode again.

a)Is there any max time within ,my VIo supply should Cutoff once Can IC enters sleep mode on keeping EN hi.

  1. b) if I do as below keeping VIo supply ON.

    STB LO,EN HI

    100uS delay

    EN Lo

Will it enter and remain in sleep mode Or does it wake up as VIo is present.

  • Hi Akhil,

    1. To be precisely, there is no "wake up mode" on this device. Sleep mode can go to normal mode, silent mode or standby mode. Only VIO supplied and EN pulled high will not change the device from sleep mode to normal mode, unless both VIO , VCC supplied and nSTB pulled high or there is a wake up event. So in your case no matter how long it takes to discharge capacitor, the device will still remain in sleep mode.

    2. It will still remain in sleep mode. The EN can be in a logical high or low state while in sleep mode, it doesn't affect mode change since VCC not supplied and nSTB pulled low.

Please let me know if you have any other question.

    Regards,

    Sean
