TUSB214-Q1: Please check the timing diagram

Part Number: TUSB214-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB214

Dear TI experts,

My customer tests TUSB214-Q1 in their own PCB. and they have a question about timing diagram.

they looked SLLA593 document, figure 3-3 and figure 3-4.

it explains about CD pin goes high and after ENA_HS goes high.

1. when the USB communication is disconnected, CD and ENA_HS will go to low.

is there any possibility that ENA_HS pin remains high? what is the condition about ENA_HS pin high?

2. is there any possibility that ENA_HS pin goes high, and after CD pin goes high? (generally CD pin goes high first.)

Please check this issue. Thanks.

Best regards,

Chase

  • Hi Chase,

CD will go high when a device is connected (Not necessarily High-Speed). ENA_HS will go high only when there is a High-Speed connection.

ENA_HS should not go high before CD goes high.

The exception would be when DC_Boost(TUSB214) is configured with a pull-up, since this is a dual-function pin(DC Boost input, then ENA_HS output). The input is sampled at power-up, then the pin turns into the ENA_HS output.

    Best,

    Stanton
