DS110DF111: Default Programming

Hello,

I have a customer that wants to know more about what configuration is required on the DS110DF111. They'd like to have the retimer start without any configuration programming. If they don't program the device, what will the device default to?

Hi Zack,

Here are the DS110DF111 default settings:

- Each channel can lock to and retime 10.3125 Gbps and 1.25 Gbps signals

- Adapt mode 1 (adapts CTLE EQ setting until optimal relative to the insertion loss)

- Output VOD of 600 mVpp

Thank you! Will that 10.3125Gbps setting will work if data rate is at 10.0000Gbps?

Hi Zack,

The VCO group 0 / group 1 rate settings allow the device to lock to multiple frequencies, but I am unsure if 10.0G is included as the default rate.

It's likely the default setting will also work at 10.0Gbps, but please allow me by EOD 8/9 to test this and confirm.

May I ask what the customer application is?

Hi Zack,

From my tests, DS110DF111 will not work at 10.0Gbps by default. However, I expect this application to be 10GbE = 10.3125Gbps - please let me know if you can confirm the rate the application is using.
