DS125BR111: redriver

Part Number: DS125BR111

do DS125BR111 support SGMII /1000base-kx  ?  we have design that connects one ETH PHY1     1G port  to  ETH PHY 2m away(about 60 inch )  by 1000base-kx  .

the PCB trace  also need to  pass  through a backplant 。

do DS125BR111 support 1.25bps datarate ?

as i know , electrical standard   of  SGMII /1000base-kx    is LVDS ?

the DS125BR111 datasheet show DS125BR111 can shupport PCIE /SAS/SATA 。

if a redirver IC support PCIE /SAS/SATA , the redriver IC also can support  SGMII /1000base-kx ?  IS this conception correct ?

  • Hi Bo,

Yes, I expect the DS125BR111 to work with SGMII and 1000Base-KX. Can you clarify the amount of insertion loss you expect to see through the 60 inches of trace material?

Does the 60 inches include the backplane routing as well? For lower data-rates, there may be concerns of over-EQ. The minimum EQ for the repeater is 2.1 dB at 1.5 GHz - please confirm that the total insertion loss on the receiver end is greater than this.

    Thank you,

    Evan
